Ruben Gallego, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona's 3rd district since 2015, recently expressed concerns on social media regarding actions taken by former President Donald Trump. In a series of tweets dated January 28, 2025, Gallego criticized the potential impacts of these actions on various support programs and public services.

In his first tweet, Gallego stated that the directive was "not only illegal" but also dangerous. He emphasized that "school lunch programs, rental assistant for the elderly, and support for law enforcement are all under attack this morning." He highlighted the risks to funding for essential services such as rent assistance, education, childcare, tribal communities, and suicide prevention for veterans.
