Ruben Gallego, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona's 3rd district since 2015, recently expressed concerns on social media regarding actions taken by former President Donald Trump. In a series of tweets dated January 28, 2025, Gallego criticized the potential impacts of these actions on various support programs and public services.

In his first tweet, Gallego stated that the directive was "not only illegal" but also dangerous. He emphasized that "school lunch programs, rental assistant for the elderly, and support for law enforcement are all under attack this morning." He concluded by asserting that "Trump’s actions make our country weaker, and put livelihoods at risk." The original post can be viewed here.

Later that day, Gallego expanded on his critique in another tweet. He highlighted the risks to funding for essential services such as rent assistance, education, childcare, tribal communities, and suicide prevention for veterans. Gallego remarked that "this administration's chaos and poor management is threatening millions of people," while affirming efforts to collaborate with state and local officials to gain further insight into the situation. The tweet is available here.

In a subsequent message posted in the afternoon of January 28th, Gallego referred to what he called "the Trump Chaos Cuts," which he claimed were endangering Americans' safety and well-being across various demographics including children, elderly individuals, police officers, and veterans. He urged the administration to provide answers immediately. The original text can be found here.
