A wildlife assembly at Mercury Mine Elementary School recently offered students and teachers an engaging educational experience. The event featured a presentation by Liberty Wildlife volunteer Annika Jeras, who is also a former student and current teacher at the school. She introduced the students to Cassidy, a Swainson's hawk, and Snickers, a great horned owl, allowing them to learn about these birds of prey.

"I got to present to my own class, and we all got a picture together with Cassidy!" said Ms. Jeras. "A wildlife organization came to Mercury Mine when I was a student there, which sparked my interest in birds of prey and ultimately led me to volunteer at Liberty Wildlife. So, it was extra special to me, as it felt like a very 'full-circle' moment!"

PVSchools expressed pride in having Ms. Jeras as part of their team, highlighting her as an example of alumni returning to build careers within the district.
