Budda Baker has been named to the second-team All-Pro following a standout season. The safety recorded a personal best with 164 tackles, earned his seventh Pro Bowl selection, and secured a contract extension. This marks the fourth time Baker has made an All-Pro team; he was first-team as a special teamer in 2017, first-team safety in 2020, and second-team safety in 2021.
Baker celebrated his 29th birthday on Friday and is also a finalist for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship award.
Other notable mentions include Trey McBride not making either team, with Raiders rookie Brock Bowers taking first-team tight end honors and George Kittle of the 49ers named to the second team. McBride finished third in voting. Garrett Williams ranked fifth among slot cornerbacks, while DeeJay Dallas was seventh among kickoff returners.
First-team safeties this year were Kerby Joseph of the Lions and Xavier McKinney of the Packers. Joining Baker on the second team was Kyle Hamilton from the Ravens.
"For me, it's a positive," Baker said late in the season regarding awards and honors. "It's great, I'm blessed and I think of myself highly and I work and I grind to be the best player I can be. That just comes with my hard work, that's what comes with showing out on the field every Sunday. Those things that will come."
"But there is still work to do," he added. "I can still get better."
