The NFL has announced that the NFC Wild Card game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams is still scheduled to take place at SoFi Stadium on Monday night. However, due to ongoing wildfires in southern California, there may be a need to relocate the game. If necessary, State Farm Stadium will serve as an alternative venue.

This is not the first time Arizona has stepped in to assist California teams facing wildfire challenges. In 2003, wildfires forced a Chargers home game against the Miami Dolphins to be moved to Sun Devil Stadium. Similarly, in 2007, air quality issues led the Chargers to practice with the Cardinals at Dignity Health Training Center.

More recently, during late 2020, pandemic-related restrictions required the 49ers to play three home games at State Farm Stadium when they could not use their Santa Clara facilities.

The Rams won their division with a record of 10-7 and will host the Vikings, who finished second in their division with a 14-3 record. The NFL stated that "the safety of the Los Angeles community" remains its priority and will continue monitoring developments closely. No final decision regarding relocation has been announced yet.

"We will continue to closely monitor developments in the area and will remain in contact with public officials, both clubs and the NFLPA," said an NFL spokesperson.
