Multiple reports indicate that James Conner is expected to play in the upcoming game against the Rams. Despite this, the Cardinals have decided to elevate veteran running back Michael Carter from the practice squad for a second consecutive game. This decision may suggest uncertainty regarding rookie Trey Benson's availability, as he is currently dealing with an ankle injury.

In addition to Carter, the Cardinals have elevated veteran safety Andre Chachere from the practice squad. This move comes as special teams star and safety Joey Blount is sidelined with a ribs injury.

Conner sustained a right knee injury during last week's game against the Panthers after accumulating 166 scrimmage yards before exiting in the third quarter. Carter stepped in as RB1, managing 18 yards on five carries and contributing five catches for 30 yards.

The team also has DeeJay Dallas available as an option for running back duties, potentially serving as a third or fourth choice if both Conner and Benson are active.

The final list of inactive players for tonight's game will be released 90 minutes before kickoff at 4:40 p.m. Arizona time, which will include confirmation of Conner's participation.
