With two open roster spots, the Arizona Cardinals have filled one by claiming safety Jammie Robinson off waivers. Robinson was released by the Carolina Panthers on Friday, ahead of their upcoming game against the Cardinals in Carolina.
Robinson entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick for the Panthers. During his college career at South Carolina and Florida State, he recorded seven interceptions. Over two seasons with the Panthers, Robinson appeared in 21 games but logged only 75 defensive snaps, contributing mainly on special teams.
The Cardinals recently placed running back Emari Demercado and punter Blake Gillikin on injured reserve. Robinson joins a team already featuring several young defensive backs, excluding rookie third-round pick Elijah Jones who is currently on injured reserve but has been designated to return.
Robinson, drafted in 2023, remains under contract through 2026.
