Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center has been recognized by the Emergency Nurses Association as a 2024 Lantern Award recipient. This accolade is awarded to only 94 emergency departments across the United States that meet specific criteria.

The Lantern Award designation highlights exceptional and innovative performance in areas such as leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research at the Buckeye Emergency Center. Hans Driessnack, CEO of Abrazo West Campus, expressed pride in the team: "We are extremely proud of all of the team members at our Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Department and grateful for their dedication to our patients," he said. "This award recognizes our nurses for their knowledge and competency in providing the best care possible for our patients. It acknowledges innovative leadership that inspires engagement and state-of-the-art solutions through collaboration and a team that feels a deep commitment to the community."

Located in southwest Arizona, Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center is a 14-bed freestanding facility serving nearly 30,000 patients annually. The center employs evidence-based practices empowering nurses to contribute to decision-making processes and lead quality improvement initiatives. Notable achievements include improved door-to-CT times for stroke patients, reduced falls, and enhanced medication safety administration.
