Abrazo West Campus recently commenced the construction of a new Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital adjacent to its acute care facility. This development aims to provide rehabilitation services for patients recovering from various medical conditions, including traumatic injuries and cardiovascular surgeries.

The hospital will offer diverse rehabilitation services such as physical and occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and internal medicine. Hans Driessnack, CEO of Abrazo West, emphasized the importance of expanding access to quality care: “We are committed to continuing to expand access to high-quality care across the communities we serve.”

The proximity of the new facility is expected to enhance patient care. Sushant Kale, MD, Interventional Neurologist and Director of Stroke and Interventional Neurology at Abrazo West Campus, noted the benefits: “We are excited to be able to follow our patients’ rehabilitation progress in a facility that is close to the hospital and in the community where they live.”

Driessnack highlighted how this development aligns with Abrazo West's mission: “Providing this type of collaborative care environment matches our mission of growing Abrazo West Campus into a truly comprehensive medical campus for West Valley residents.”

The 24-bed hospital will be housed in the two-story Abrazo Litchfield Medical Building at 1375 N Litchfield Road in Goodyear. It will feature approximately 27,000 square feet dedicated to rehabilitation services on its second floor. The project is expected to create 46 full-time jobs upon completion.

Construction is slated for completion around September 2025. For further details or health resources, individuals can visit AbrazoHealth.com.
