Michael Palardy, a seasoned NFL punter, has been signed by the Arizona Cardinals to their practice squad following an injury to Blake Gillikin. "It's just kind of the life we live, but any opportunity I get to be a part of the locker room is such a blessing," said Palardy about his latest opportunity. This development comes as Gillikin and running back Emari Demercado have been placed on Injured Reserve, ending their seasons unless the team reaches the playoffs.
Palardy will take over punting duties when the Cardinals face the New England Patriots on Sunday. The game also marks an interesting matchup for kicker Chad Ryland, who played for the Patriots last season. Palardy's career includes stints with multiple teams such as the Panthers, Dolphins, and Patriots. He has played in 80 games and had associations with seven other NFL teams and even the Toronto Argonauts.
Given his extensive experience and understanding of league dynamics, Palardy appreciates each chance he gets in this competitive environment. "Honestly that is my biggest perspective and the most healthy one for me," he noted.
His familiarity with different roles in special teams operations makes him adaptable to various situations. "When you go into these situations you want to make it as seamless as possible," Palardy explained regarding his approach to integrating into new teams.
The game between the Cardinals and Patriots will be held at State Farm Stadium with its roof open.
