Joey Blount, a key player for the Cardinals' special teams, is known for his vibrant energy both on and off the field. He describes himself as an "energy guy" and emphasizes the importance of celebrating victories in the league. "It takes a lot to win in this league, so it kind of bothered me when we won and wouldn't celebrate," Blount stated. "I was like, 'We have to celebrate every win.' It's a battle every week so we have to celebrate every victory the most we can and then on Monday, we start again."

The Cardinals have excelled in special teams under coordinator Jeff Rodgers this season. A significant play by Blount occurred during Sunday's game against the Bears when he caught a Blake Gillikin punt inside Chicago's 1-yard line. This led to a safety shortly after.

Blount's enthusiasm was evident post-play as he celebrated with teammates behind the end zone seats. The celebration continued later in the game after DeeJay Dallas made an onside punt catch. Special-teamer Zach Pascal explained, "We bring energy into whoever is going out there next...Special teams usually gets (waved off), but the guys we have in this room, we take it so serious."

Pascal mentioned that other players are interested in being part of special teams due to its impact on team success. Despite aspiring for more defensive snaps at safety, Blount acknowledges his role: "Knowing where our team is right now and our growth and knowing your role on the team I understand my value is on special teams."

The Cardinals continue to rely heavily on their special teams unit as they advance through the season.
