The PVSchools Community is preparing for its 15th Annual 5K Fun Run and Health Fair, scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Horizon High School. This event aims to promote active lifestyles among staff, families, and community members.

Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories: 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and over 70. Team awards will also be distributed based on race participation. Winners will be announced after the race with trophies delivered to schools.

Participants are encouraged to visit the health fair taking place from 9 a.m. to noon in the gymnasium. The fair will feature local medical providers and community organizations offering resources and information related to wellness programs and family support services.

Registration is open through Run Signup until February 1, with early registrants by January 17 receiving a t-shirt. All participants must register under their team name—be it school or department.

The registration fees have remained unchanged for the past fourteen years: $10 for adults; $5 for children aged between eleven and nineteen; free entry for children ten years old or younger.

Event activities commence at eight in the morning with registration and check-in followed by a welcome announcement from Dr. Jason Reynolds at eight forty-five. The kids' dash starts at nine o'clock along with the health fair's opening in the gymnasium. Stretching precedes the main race which begins at nine fifteen followed by an awards ceremony at ten o'clock.
