The latest school letter grades have been released, and PVSchools is acknowledging the efforts of students and staff that have led to improvements in various areas. This year, 21 schools in Paradise received an "A" grade, with 17 maintaining their previous year's "A". Five sites showed improvement, and none scored a D or F.
These grades are a reflection of the dedication of students and staff, along with support from families. Schools remain committed to district values outlined in the strategic plan, with innovation, collaboration, and growth contributing significantly to these outcomes.
"The success of our students is a testament to the incredible partnership between our dedicated staff, involved parents and guardians, and our hardworking students," said Dr. Jason Reynolds, interim superintendent of PVSchools. "While school letter grades offer a glimpse into this success, they don't fully capture the vibrant learning environment and commitment to growth found here in Paradise. This is truly a special district with a pathway for every passion, supporting all learners."
School letter grades are primarily based on standardized assessments as one measure of student achievement. Grades consider different weights for K-8 schools, high schools, and alternative schools including growth, proficiency, English Learner (EL), acceleration or readiness. High schools also include College Career Readiness Indicators (CCRI) and graduation rates.
Palomino Primary and Echo Mountain Primary do not receive letter grades due to their "primary" designation. Roadrunner does not receive a grade because of its size.
