Max and Bo Melton, brothers who once faced off daily in practice at Rutgers University, are set to meet on an NFL field for the first time this Sunday. Max, now a rookie cornerback for the Arizona Cardinals, will face his brother Bo, a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers.

Reflecting on their college days, Max noted how coaches paired them against each other to hone their skills. "They knew he was going to work me into the best corner I could be," said Max. Bo echoed this sentiment: "I'm trying to make him better. He's trying to make me better."

The upcoming game is more than just a sibling rivalry; it's a family affair with 25 to 30 relatives traveling from Egg Harbor, New Jersey, to Green Bay. "I think our families are more excited than we are because we play ball," Bo remarked.

Both brothers followed in the footsteps of their parents and older brother by attending Rutgers. Their father Gary Melton Sr., played football there from 1987-91 while their mother Vicky played basketball from 1989-93.

Bo initially joined the Seattle Seahawks after being drafted in the seventh round but has found success with the Packers. Max was selected in the second round by the Cardinals and is seen as a promising addition to their secondary.

Despite different paths, both have carved out roles in professional football. Sunday's game represents not only personal achievement but also fulfillment of childhood dreams shared in their backyard games.

Vicky Melton plans to wear a custom half-and-half jersey supporting both teams at Lambeau Field. The significance of playing against his brother isn't lost on Max: "That's literally the moment we dreamed of... that two to three seconds of lining up across from him before the ball is snapped, that's what I live for."
