Banner - University Medical Center adds four new operating rooms

Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix has recently introduced four new operating rooms, bringing the total number to 28. These additions will mainly support neurosurgery, orthopedics, and general surgery.

The expansion aims to accommodate an estimated 15% annual growth in surgical volume, allowing more patients to receive necessary surgical services. Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix is known for its world-renowned surgeons and highly trained medical staff who perform complex procedures daily. The hospital specializes in a range of surgeries from spinal fusions and hip and knee replacements to craniotomies, using the latest technologies and effective surgical methods.

“This much-needed expansion of our operating room space will be a significant factor in how we’re able to help more people in our community who need specialized medical care,” said Daniel Post, chief executive officer of Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. “Our goal is to offer the best, most efficient care possible to patients, and this is yet another way we are doing so in an effort to make people’s lives better.”

Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix is a teaching hospital that has served Arizona and the Southwest since 1911. It forms part of Banner – University Medicine, an academic medical network affiliated with The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. Recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the nation’s top hospitals, it specializes in heart care, cancer care, high-risk obstetrics, neurosciences, organ transplants, medical toxicology, and emergency care including a Level I trauma center.
