Trey Benson is adjusting to a reduced role in his rookie season with the Arizona Cardinals. The third-round pick from Florida State has seen limited playing time, recording only 10 yards on 11 carries in a win over the Rams and two snaps totaling eight yards against the Lions.

Benson remains positive about his situation. "That's always my vibe," he said. "I want everyone to win around me, even the people in my room."

The game plan against the Lions minimized opportunities for Benson. Despite preferring more snaps to get into the rhythm of the game, he remains undeterred. "Now, I'm like, 'I don't care, once I get in I'll make the best of it' because I don't know when I'll get in again," he explained.

The Cardinals rely heavily on veteran James Conner and appreciate Emari Demercado's blocking abilities, leaving Benson to earn his place gradually. He has noticed the speed difference between college and professional play. "You look at it and look away for a second, it's gone," Benson observed about running lanes closing quickly.

Despite these challenges, Benson maintains a positive outlook and values learning from Conner. "I feel like it's a blessing in disguises, honestly," he said, pointing towards Conner's locker. "Still learning behind that guy. He's a dog, man."

Benson acknowledges the adjustment period but is confident about his future readiness. "I'm not used to it," he admitted. "But when my time comes, I'll be ready."
