The Arizona Cardinals have placed starting defensive lineman Justin Jones on Injured Reserve due to a triceps injury he sustained during Sunday's game. Head coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed that Jones will miss the remainder of the season.

To fill the vacancy left by Jones, the Cardinals have re-signed veteran defensive lineman Naquan Jones from the Miami Dolphins' practice squad. Naquan Jones had previously played four games for the Cardinals last year, making one start.

Justin Jones had been a consistent presence on the field, playing 39 consecutive games, including every game in 2022 and 2023 with the Chicago Bears. He joined the Cardinals in the spring with a three-year free agent contract worth nearly $20 million in guaranteed money. The team had high expectations for him as a key component of their defensive line overhaul.

Last season, the Cardinals faced similar challenges when they lost two defensive linemen, L.J. Collier and Carlos Watkins, to season-ending biceps injuries within the first two weeks.

Coach Gannon also addressed questions regarding starting right tackle Jonah Williams' potential return this season following a knee injury. "We'll see," Gannon stated, noting he did not want to speculate further. Williams is currently on Injured Reserve and could potentially return as early as Week 6. Due to various injuries, the Cardinals have already used four different right tackles in three games this season, including three different starters.
