Arizona D-Backs player visits children at Mesa hospital

MESA (July 24, 2024) - This month, patients at Banner Children’s at Desert received a special visit from Arizona Diamondbacks player Kevin Newman. The baseball player dedicated his morning to spending time with young patients and their families, bringing smiles to their faces during the visit.

"We are incredibly thankful to the Arizona Diamondbacks organization and to Kevin Newman for brightening the day of our pediatric patients at Banner Children’s at Desert. Their kindness and generosity have truly made a lasting impact on our young patients and their families," stated Carla Pascoe, Nurse Director at Banner Children’s at Desert.

"I'm incredibly proud of our Diamondbacks players, including Kevin, for their dedication to giving back to the community and bringing joy to the kids at Banner Children's at Desert. Banner Desert Medical Center is a nonprofit hospital in Mesa, Arizona, providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency services, Level I trauma care, cancer care, heart care, orthopedics, women and infant services, rehabilitation, neurological care and more. The medical center is one of the most comprehensive hospitals in Arizona and serves as a regional referral center in the East Valley of metropolitan Phoenix. The medical campus is also home to Banner Children's at Desert. Both facilities are owned and operated by Banner Health.
