Maricopa seeks public input on community needs assessment survey

The Maricopa County Department of Human Services is seeking public input to assess community needs and address fair housing issues within the county. The feedback collected from the Community Needs Assessment Survey will help prioritize decisions for federally funded programs, share development needs, and make a difference in affordable housing.

The survey aims to inform decisions regarding federally funded programs and grants for public facilities, infrastructure updates, affordable housing preservation, housing development, public services, homelessness initiatives, and more. Residents can provide their feedback online via Maricopa.gov/HCDSurvey, by email at HCD@maricopa.gov, in writing to Maricopa County Housing and Community Development at 234 N. Central Ave., Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85004, by calling 602-506-0589 and pressing 0 to leave a message for the department or in-person during designated public meetings.

The first meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, June 25 at 6 p.m. at various locations:

- Maricopa County Downtown: 234 N. Central Ave., 3rd Floor, Roosevelt Conference Room, Phoenix, AZ 85004

- Maricopa County East Valley Career Center: 1001 W. Southern Ave., Suite 101, Rooms 116 and 117, Mesa, AZ 85210

- Maricopa County West Valley Career Center: 4425 W. Olive Ave., Room 207, Glendale, AZ 85302

- City of Buckeye: City Hall at 530 E. Monroe Ave., Executive Conference Room, Buckeye, AZ 85326

- Town of Gilbert: City Hall at 50 E. Civic Center Dr., Tower Room Gilbert AZ USA

Additionally residents can participate virtually via Microsoft Teams.

The “2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice” is being conducted by The Maricopa HOME Consortium which receives U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds to preserve and increase the supply of affordable housing within Maricopa County. Consortium members include Avondale Chandler Gilbert Glendale Peoria Scottsdale Surprise Tempe and the Maricopa Urban County.
