Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk has announced his support for Republican Rep. Jim Jordan as Speaker of the House. Kirk stated, "He's the man for just such a time as this." Jordan, known as one of the "most conservative members of Congress," has faced setbacks in his quest for the role of House Speaker. In a second vote on Wednesday, 22 House Republicans voted against him, a slight increase from the 20 opposing votes he received in the first round. Despite the opposition, Jordan remains determined to continue seeking the support needed to become the next Speaker.

Several Republican Representatives have voiced concerns about feeling pressured to vote for Jordan, as their colleagues single them out for not endorsing his candidacy. Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy faced a similar challenge when it took 15 rounds of voting in January to secure his role as speaker.

Earlier this month, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz initiated a successful vote to oust McCarthy, leaving the position of Speaker vacant. The House is now responsible for selecting a new Speaker. McCarthy informed lawmakers that he would not seek re-election.

Jim Jordan, who represents Ohio's 4th District, is a strong advocate for taxpayers and a supporter of former President Trump. He played a role in founding the House Freedom Caucus and currently serves as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and an active member of the House Oversight Committee. Jordan holds a Master's degree in Education, a Law Degree, and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.

The support for Jordan as Speaker of the House is not without controversy. Rogan O'Handley, Ambassador of Turning Point USA, criticized those opposing Jordan, saying, "Why do the Swamp 22 keep crying about 'intimidation' tactics?! We're literally just telling you what voters want. Stop acting like the victim now that voters are calling you out for backstabbing them in exchange for lobbyist money."

Charlie Kirk, in his support for Jordan, stated, "Speaker Jordan or bust! Let's get this done House GOP. Keep lighting up the phone lines: 202-225-3121." Despite the opposition and controversy, Jordan remains determined to rally support for his bid for Speaker of the House.
