Matt Roeske, founder of the Scottsdale-based company Cultivate Elevate, said Shilajit is a mineral-dense, centuries-old “health remedy.”
"Shilajit has been a cornerstone in traditional medicine for centuries," Roeske told host Leyla Gulen on The Grand Canyon Times Podcast. "Its unique composition and mineral-rich nature make it a sought-after remedy for various health concerns."
“Shilajit is formed at the compression of two different mountains pressing together the soil,” said Roeske. “As you bring a little Shilajit tablet into your body, you're providing the body with 84 of 102 minerals."
Shilajit is an organic, sticky substance found in the lower Himalayan hills at altitudes between 1000 to 5000 meters in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, and Arunachal Pradesh. It is also found in Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, China, Tibet, and the former U.S.S.R.. Commonly used in ayurvedic medicine to health the body, Shilajit has long been known as the “Destroyer of Weakness.”
Composed of humus and organic plant materials that have been compressed by layers of rocks, Shilajit is high in fulvic acid, which acts as a carrier molecule in the human system, helping in the transportation of nutrients into the deep tissues, and removes deep-seated toxins from the body. It also contains more than 84 different minerals including copper, silver, zinc, iron, and lead in their ionic forms.

Shilajit can act as a “health rejuvenator” to people exercising at high altitudes, according to a study in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology. The fulvic acid in Shilajit also has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory powers, said a study published in the International Journal of Alzheimer's disease. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3296184/
Roeske told Gulen he founded Cultivate Elevate with his wife, Amra, “to educate and empower individuals to rise above fear and illness and take control of their health's future.”
In addition to Shilajit tablets, Roeske said his company also provides fresh water pearl powder, dragon’s blood tablets, as well as Lion’s Mane and a variety of mushroom powders.
