Phoenix Major Events Administrator Roxann Favors has been named assistant director and chief revenue officer for the city's Aviation Department, which oversees and operates Sky Harbor International, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports.
The city announced Favors' appointment on Monday in a release on its website. Favors, who has nearly 20 years of management experience with the city, will join the Aviation Department in early September, the release said.
“We are fortunate to have Roxann returning to join the executive team at the Aviation Department," Chad Makovsky, director of Aviation Services, said in the release. “After a national search, it was clear that with Roxann's knowledge and skills, she is the chief revenue officer we need as we continue to grow our operations and enhance the customer experience."
Favors has worked with the city since 2003 when she joined the city's Management Internship Program. She held management positions in the Aviation Department's Business and Properties Division for 11 years, five of which were spent as deputy aviation director, the release said.
In 2015, Favors was named the city's Major Events administrator, where she helped the city land some of its biggest events, such as the 2017 NCAA Men's Final Four, 2017 Lost Lake Music and Arts Festival, and the annual M3F Music Festival. Phoenix won a bid to host Super Bowl LVII under Favors' leadership, and will also host upcoming men's and women's Final Four tournaments.
Deputy City Manager Mario Paniagua also praised Favors' appointment.
“Roxann is a proven leader at the city of Phoenix, and I am excited to see her joining the executive team at the Phoenix Aviation Department," Paniagua said. “As a self-sustaining enterprise and the state's number one economic engine, Sky Harbor needs an experienced chief revenue officer like Roxann to guide its business operations into the future."
