Arizona voter: 'We're in the middle of a battle for the soul of America'

In an interview with the PHX Reporter, Phoenix voter Glenn Bridgeman, who utilized early-voting procedures in this key battleground state, stated that the presidential election is "absolutely" important to him.

"Well, I think that we're in the middle of a battle for the soul of America," Bridgeman said. "But I think that one party wants to basically become Venezuela or Cuba, and I think the other party's trying to protect our liberties."

In addition to stating the importance of Federal elections, Bridgeman expressed his enthusiasm to vote in every election that he could, citing the importance of elections up and down the ballot this year.

"I think this is probably the most pivotal election that we had in my lifetime," he said

Bridgeman is not alone. Many Americans across the country are feeling that this election is the most important one they have voted in for a long time.

This is at least in part due to the messaging being communicated by both candidates, which mainly consists of warnings of what will happen if the other candidate is allowed to take power or keep power.

Bridgeman was also asked what some of the most important issues were this election.

"I think the economy is probably number one," he said. "First and Second Amendment rights number two."

Another source of frustration for Bridgeman and a driving factor for his enthusiasm to vote was the coronavirus pandemic. Though he acknowledges that the virus is real and affects those at higher risk, he says it is not worthy of treating like a "plague."

Bridgeman cites economic issues that have resulted from the lockdowns, particularly those that have affected small businesses and small business owners.
