In an effort to reduce stress on military families, Gov. Doug Ducey and Second Lady Karen Pence led a Military Spouse Occupational Licensing Roundtable recently.
By reducing occupational regulations in Arizona, the governor and second lady hope to eliminate some of the burdens military families face when relocating.
“While our men and women in uniform are serving their country, their spouses are serving right alongside them,” said Gov. Ducey in a release from his office. “We support our military by supporting their families — and cutting down on occupational licensing requirements is just one way we can do that. The second lady has tirelessly led on supporting military families, and I’m grateful for her continued work to give back to the service members and their families who serve our nation.”
These cuts in regulation would extend beyond military families to all people living or moving to Arizona, allowing willing workers to get jobs faster, according to a release from the governor’s office.
Arizona already recognizes occupational licenses from other states for military spouses.
