Carrington College-Phoenix East issued the following announcement on Nov. 14
On Friday, Oct. 11, more than a 100 students and faculty from Carrington College in Mesa volunteered with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a Christian non-profit that provides meals to starving and malnourished children in more than 70 countries.
Students helped by packing dry goods at the FDA-approved facility consisting of six meals per bag. They packed roughly 212 boxes consisting of 45,792 meals. That is enough to feed 125 kids for an entire year.
“Our goal this year is to feed 1 million kids a day by producing 370 million meals,” says Clint Palmer, Development Manager at Feed My Starving Children. “That takes a lot of work and incredible partners like Carrington College make a huge impact by joining us for a packing session.”
The non-profit hosts more than 6,000 volunteers per week, which includes permanent sites and hundreds of MobilePack™ events nationwide. Last year, the organization received support from roughly 1.3 million volunteers.
“By packing meals with us, Carrington College students were able to provide hope to kids around the globe who were once just like them, dreaming of their future,” added Palmer. “Thanks to Carrington, those children now have hope to aspire for their goals and become the children and students they were meant to be. Hope is greater because of you Carrington College!”
Both students and faculty at Carrington College were proud to volunteer and be a part of such an important cause. They look forward to supporting FMSC again in the future.
