Senator Ruben Gallego recently addressed his concerns on his social media platform regarding actions taken by Republicans in the Senate. Through a series of tweets, Gallego voiced his disapproval of the decisions made by Senate Republicans concerning key social programs like Medicaid and Social Security.

On April 5, 2025, Gallego expressed his frustration regarding a vote in the Senate. In a tweet, he stated, "We just asked Republicans a simple question. Will you vote to protect Medicaid? They voted no. People in Arizona are terrified. It doesn’t have to be this way." Gallego highlighted the anxiety the decision has caused in Arizona.

In another tweet dated the same day, Gallego criticized Republicans for their stand on Social Security. He tweeted, "Right now, Republicans are voting NO on an amendment that would protect Social Security. Why? Because they work for billionaires like Elon Musk who could care less if you receive your hard-earned benefits." Gallego suggested that the decisions align with the interests of wealthy individuals rather than the general public.

Later, Gallego pointed out the longstanding affiliations he believes former President Trump has with wealthy individuals. On April 5, he noted, "From day one, Trump made it clear who he stands with—his billionaire buddies in the front row of his inauguration. Now it couldn’t be more obvious. Last night Senate Republicans voted against protecting the programs that help everyday families get by all to make billionaires." This statement pointed to a pattern of decisions he attributes to support for billionaires at the expense of ordinary citizens.
