The Arizona Cardinals concluded their 2024 season with eight wins, doubling their total from the previous two seasons. This improvement is seen as a positive step for the team under general manager Monti Ossenfort, who aims to further strengthen the squad for 2025. Known for assembling strong draft classes, Ossenfort will first focus on free agency.

Kyler Murray's performance in 2024 was notable as he became the third-youngest player in NFL history to surpass 19,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards. He also tied franchise records for seasons with over 3,000 passing yards and more than 20 touchdowns. After recovering from an ACL injury in 2023, Murray remained healthy throughout the season and built a strong rapport with teammates Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, and Marvin Harrison Jr.

Clayton Tune, drafted by the Cardinals in 2023, served primarily in short-yardage situations this past season. Head coach Jonathan Gannon has expressed satisfaction with Tune's development but acknowledges that adding another quarterback during free agency could foster competition.

Social media discussions have suggested that the Cardinals might sign a backup quarterback during free agency. However, Gannon has reiterated his commitment to Kyler Murray as the team's future leader. Despite this assurance, adding at least one quarterback for offseason training is anticipated.
