A familiar face returns to the Cardinals coaching staff as DJ Gillins joins as the newest recipient of the Bill Bidwill Coaching Fellowship. Gillins, who was previously part of the Bill Walsh Coaching Fellowship with a stint at the Cardinals during the 2024 training camp, now becomes the seventh member selected for this fellowship.

The Bill Bidwill Coaching Fellowship aims to increase diversity and provide coaching experience opportunities in the NFL. Gillins' addition follows recent promotions within the fellowship program, with Connor Senger advancing to pass game specialist and Blaine Gautier elevated to offensive quality control.

Gillins' specific responsibilities with the Cardinals have not been disclosed yet. However, he brings significant experience from his previous roles. Most recently, he served as a running backs coach at Stony Brook and before that, as a wide receivers coach at Long Island University. From 2019 to 2021, he was a graduate assistant at Utah State, Arkansas, and Utah.

As a former collegiate quarterback, Gillins will gain hands-on experience working closely with both staff and players beyond just training camp activities. Like him, Senger and Gautier also come from offensive backgrounds.
