PVSchools recently celebrated the Chinese New Year at Paradise Valley High School with students from Whispering Wind Academy and Sunrise Middle School. These students are part of the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program, where they learn Mandarin.

The celebration marks the beginning of a 15-day festival known as the Spring Festival. This year, it began on January 29, ushering in the Year of the Snake. The tradition spans two weeks, from the first new moon to the next full moon, and is observed worldwide.

On February 7, students participated in festivities by presenting traditional songs and dances to honor Chinese culture. The event allowed them to experience firsthand what they have learned in their Mandarin classes. A statement from PVSchools reads: "It certainly is impressive to see how much Mandarin all these students are learning. We are so proud of them and their teachers!"

Parents interested in enrolling their children in one of PVSchools' DLI Mandarin programs can find more information on the Mandarin Immersion page.
