The Arizona Cardinals are looking to improve their offensive performance in the upcoming seasons, as highlighted by key figures within the team. Offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, who previously worked with Pat Shurmur on the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff, has adopted a guiding principle: "If it made the sheet, it's not a bad call." This refers to the play call sheet used during games, which is meticulously crafted and adjusted throughout the week.

Petzing emphasized confidence in their preparation process: "By the time Sunday comes you should feel good about it when it comes from my mouth into the headset," he stated. Head coach Jonathan Gannon expressed his support for both Petzing and quarterback Kyler Murray, noting that consistency was a recurring theme in discussions about their offense.

The Cardinals experienced varied performances throughout the season. They excelled in certain games, such as Week 2 against the Rams and Week 8 in Miami, but struggled in others like Week 12 in Seattle and Week 17 in Los Angeles. Despite these inconsistencies, they finished strong against a weakened 49ers team.

Murray reflected positively on their late-season efforts: "I thought we were crisper," he said. The team's statistical achievements included being ranked 11th in yards per game and seventh in rushing yards. ESPN recognized Murray as the 11th most valuable player of the season.

Gannon stressed the importance of supporting Murray: "We have to do everything that we can to support (Kyler) and put a good team around him." Murray remains committed to improving his game without taking extended breaks from football: "I don't want to ever get too far away from the game just because this is my life."

As for potential changes, Petzing noted that evaluating what needs adjustment would be more appropriate during the offseason. He acknowledged the importance of balancing between refining successful strategies and avoiding commitment to ineffective ones.

"Getting good at something is really important," Petzing said. "But (so is) also making sure you're not committing to things that aren't working."

The Cardinals aim to continue believing in their plays come gameday as they seek better results moving forward.
