The Arizona Cardinals have bolstered their offseason roster by signing two veteran wide receivers who recently participated in the playoffs as part of practice squads. Quez Watkins, previously with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has signed a "future" contract with the Cardinals. Watkins was on the Steelers' practice squad during their playoff loss to the Ravens.
In addition to Watkins, Trishton Jackson has also joined the Cardinals under a similar agreement. Jackson was part of the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad before they were eliminated from the playoffs at State Farm Stadium. Both contracts will become active when the new league year begins in mid-March.
Quez Watkins spent four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, including two years working under current Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon. During his time with the Eagles, Watkins recorded 98 catches for 1,249 yards and six touchdowns across 49 games. He did not play any games during his tenure with Pittsburgh in 2024.
Trishton Jackson has experience with multiple teams, including the Rams, and has appeared in nine career games with two receptions.
The current wide receiver lineup for the Cardinals includes Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, and Xavier Weaver. However, players such as Greg Dortch, Zay Jones, and Zach Pascal have contracts that are set to expire soon. Additionally, Andre Baccellia and Tejhaun Palmer have secured "future" deals after spending last season on the Cardinals' practice squad.
