In the concluding days of the Arizona Cardinals' season practice, Bernhard Seikovits wore the Tillman practice jersey, number 40, featuring camouflage numerals. This jersey is awarded weekly to an outstanding scout team player, a decision made by the coaching staff. The honor went to Seikovits, an international player from Austria, who had previously received it in 2023.

Seikovits expressed his feelings about this recognition: "I feel like every player, no matter where he is from... every player has someone behind them and is trying to create a path for people behind him," adding that European players and others outside the U.S. have support back home.

Reflecting on his influence back home, Seikovits mentioned: "I don't know how many 14-year-olds back home are like, 'Oh I hope he makes the active roster so I can be in the league one day.' But I want to prepare one day to make it an easier way for the people back home."

Each week, near Tillman's locker at Dignity Health Training Center, the practice player's contribution is acknowledged alongside their on-field jersey. At 27 years old, Seikovits admitted he was initially unaware of Pat Tillman's story before joining Arizona but soon learned its significance: "I feel like it's hard not to come across him once you get here," noting it as inspiring and an honor.

The jersey's seasonal conclusion with Seikovits seems apt given his extensive practice squad experience. Coach Jonathan Gannon noted that "Seiko" continues learning and putting in extra effort during his fourth year with the team. Despite limited opportunities due to a healthy tight end room including Travis Vokolek's frequent absence from game days as a healthy scratch, Seikovits remains optimistic about future possibilities.

"I'm just trying to do my best every day... Maybe next year is the year," he stated while preparing teammates for upcoming games against teams like the 49ers.

On motivation despite challenges on P-squad duties: "You always try to find motivation in whatever you do... Every little thing helps. You try to earn that jersey every week."
