As the semester concludes, the Governing Board prepares to welcome two new members following the November election. Dr. Amanda Lim, a PVSchools graduate and parent of current and incoming students, will join the board. She has served on school council and volunteered extensively at her child's school. Her background in biomedical research and recent doctorate in bioethics/medical ethics add to her qualifications.

Jessica Wani, an attorney specializing in family law, is also joining the board. As a parent of two current PV students and a long-time district volunteer, she brings extensive experience advocating for policies supporting children and public education at various levels. Her former role as president of the United Parent Council highlights her commitment to educational initiatives.

The board also bids farewell to retiring members Kerry Baker and Nancy Case. Kerry Baker steps down after a 2-year term during which she advocated for students and teachers. She plans to continue her advocacy efforts through other avenues.

Nancy Case leaves after 20 years of service dedicated to students, staff, families, and the community of PVSchools. A parent of seven PVSchools graduates, her focus on public education has been central to her work on the board. Her contributions included teaching reading during summers to help younger students develop essential skills.

The Governing Board wishes everyone a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year.
