The holiday season has once again brought a cherished tradition to Palomino Primary, where students have been learning about generosity through a partnership with St. Vincent de Paul. For over three decades, the school has participated in this tradition, allowing students to shop for gifts for their loved ones at the St. Vincent de Paul Hope Chest store located on Tatum and Greenway.

This year, as part of the tradition, classes visited the store which had closed its doors to the public for the day to accommodate Palomino students. Before their visit, students collaborated with teachers to create shopping lists for family members. Upon arrival at the store, they were assisted by volunteers who helped them select suitable presents.

St. Vincent de Paul and its sponsors covered all gift costs, highlighting their commitment to community support. After returning to school, students wrapped their chosen gifts in anticipation of sharing them with their families.

This event is not just about shopping; it serves as an important lesson in compassion and empathy. It provides students with a chance to experience giving back and understanding that holidays are more than receiving gifts.

"We are incredibly grateful to St. Vincent de Paul and their partners for their continued dedication to this wonderful tradition," stated representatives from Palomino Primary. "Their generosity allows our students to experience the holiday season's true meaning and spread joy throughout our community."
