Earlier this month, Horizon High School drama teacher Ms. Brenda Batres was honored by Arizona Thespians as the Arizona Thespian Teacher of the Year for the North Region. This award is presented to educators who show outstanding commitment and dedication to their school's performing arts program.
Ms. Batres received recognition for her years of service, leadership, and character in education. She has been acknowledged as "the best of the best" among her peers.
Her passion for the arts and dedication to her students have distinguished her work. Ms. Batres has developed a theatre program that ranks among the top in the state. Her efforts have fostered creativity and curiosity in her students while advancing PVSchools Journey of Excellence.
