The Arizona Cardinals are set to welcome back wide receiver Zay Jones following the conclusion of his five-game suspension. The team has secured a roster exemption for Jones that will last until October 14, by which date they must decide whether to reinstate him on the 53-man roster or release him. He could potentially rejoin the roster before this deadline and might be eligible to play in Sunday's game against Green Bay.

Cardinals Coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed that Jones would participate in practice this week. "I am excited about Zay adding in here," Gannon stated. "We'll find the right ways to deploy him and he's a playmaker for us, can play all three positions, and he can make plays."

During his suspension, which began at the start of Week 1, Jones was allowed access to the Dignity Health Training Center and permitted discussions with coaches but was barred from attending meetings or practicing.

In training camp prior to his suspension, Jones was positioned as the fourth receiver behind teammates Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, and Greg Dortch.

Jones had a productive stint last season with Jacksonville, recording 34 receptions for 321 yards and two touchdowns over nine games. In 2022, he achieved career-highs with 82 catches and 823 yards across 16 games for the Jaguars.

Zay Jones is notably the nephew of former Cardinals quarterback Jeff Blake and was originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
