There were 5,486 new eviction cases filed in Maricopa County during August, according to the Justice Courts of Maricopa County.

So far in 2024, there have been 39,504 eviction cases, a number that indicates a significant decrease from the record-breaking 83,687 cases filed in 2005.

Eviction cases in Maricopa County are handled by the Justice Courts of Maricopa County, of which there are 26 local precincts. In addition to eviction cases, these courts handle protective orders, misdemeanors, small claims up to $3,500, and civil lawsuits for $10,000 or less.

The Justice Courts in Maricopa County operate under the Arizona Judicial Branch and are responsible for handling a variety of legal matters within the county.
