On August 5, 2024, a technical issue within the automated attendance notifications system led to some parents and guardians receiving multiple notifications that their child was absent from school. Upon identifying the problem, PVSchools began collaborating with Finalsite, the mass messaging and website vendor, to address and rectify the situation.

The message was sent exclusively to families with a student listed as absent. If parents or guardians did not receive this notification, it indicates that their student was not marked as absent.

Finalsite provided the following statement to the PVSchools community regarding the technical issue:

"Dear Paradise Valley Unified School District Community,

We recently experienced a technical issue that resulted in multiple copies of attendance notifications being sent out. We understand the inconvenience and confusion this may have caused.

We want to inform you that this issue appears to originate on our end and not the responsibility of the school district. Our team is actively working to resolve this problem and prevent it from happening again in the future.

We sincerely apologize for any disruption this may have caused and appreciate your understanding as we address the issue.

Sincerely,

Josh Fulton

VP of Support

Finalsite"
