Statement from Phoenix City Manager Jeff Barton regarding the 2023 General Obligation (GO) Bond election results:

"Thank you, Phoenix residents, for supporting the 2023 General Obligation (GO) Bond Program. Because of your support, we will be able to fund critical infrastructure and rehabilitation needs of both aging City facilities and areas of rapid growth, with new and enhanced parks, libraries, fire and police stations, affordable housing, street improvements and more.

We are doing this without increasing the property tax rate. We are pacing spending to allow future bond programs without increasing the property tax rate, setting up our future leaders and generations to enjoy a community with world-class amenities.

I am incredibly proud of my team at the City of Phoenix who put together the comprehensive yet fiscally responsible bond program. We have prioritized public engagement every step of the way, and now with voter approval, our work continues. I take the responsibility to deliver on these projects very seriously. I look forward to seeing these amenities come to fruition as we work to maintain the Phoenix of today and build the Phoenix of tomorrow."
