Gov. Doug Ducey (R-AZ) recently revealed the appointment of Amanda Moncayo Parker to the Maricopa County Superior Court.
Moncayo Parker fills the seat held by Judge Rosa Mroz, who died in February, according to a news release from the governor's office.
"Amanda has shown time and time again her dedication to her community and Maricopa County," Ducey said in the news release. "I am honored to appoint her to the Maricopa County Superior Court."
Moncayo Parker serves as bureau chief for the Appeals and Post-Conviction Proceedings Bureau for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. She has managed 17 attorneys over four practice areas. She also served as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.
The news release noted that Moncayo Parker worked as a law clerk in the Appeals Bureau of the Maricopa County Attorney's Office from 2012 to 2017. She also worked as deputy county attorney in the Pretrial and Appeals bureaus.
Moncayo Parker in 2016 received the Distinguished Service Award from the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for her work on Arizona v. Christopher Simcox, and again in 2018 for her work on cases Simpson v. Miller and Morreno v. Brickner.
