Mesa Community College professor Sean Whitcomb donates $79 to Bernard Sanders' campaign

Sean Whitcomb, a professor at Mesa Community College, donated $79 to Democratic Party candidate Bernard Sanders, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $2,913 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with Mesa Community College as of November 3. All of these contributions were made to Democratic Party candidates and committees.

Karen Maish's contribution of $935 to Democratic Party Mark Kelly was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with Mesa Community College since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
