Phoenix home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Phoenix rose by $15,500 while total sales increased by 4.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 31,671 homes sold, with a median sale price of $212,500 - a 7.9% increase over the $197,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 30,302 homes sold in Phoenix in 2016.

The median sales tax in Phoenix for 2017 was $1,261. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,195. This marks an increase of 5.5%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 0.6%.
