On April 7, 2025, Gallego addressed concerns related to social security in Arizona. He stated, "Seniors in Arizona depend on Social Security. I will work with anyone to fix this."

Following that, on April 8, 2025, Gallego commented on immigration policy and due process. He emphasized the necessity for due process in deportation proceedings, particularly calling for the immediate return of an individual, Abrego Garcia. He asserted, "The U.S. must follow due process. If this administration is going to deport people, make sure they're actually criminals. The stakes are too high to make mistakes. Abrego Garcia should be returned immediately."

In another tweet from April 8, 2025, he criticized Kristi Noem's competence in matters related to firearms and homeland security, stating, "Kristi Noem doesn’t know how to hold a gun or run the Department of Homeland Security"
