The PVSchools District Field Day recently concluded at North Canyon High School, bringing together 4th, 5th, and 6th graders from every elementary school in the district. The four-day event featured various athletic competitions where students showcased their abilities and school spirit.
Parents, teachers, and community members attended to support the students. "This year's Field Day showcased the strong community we have within PVSchools," stated a representative. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and friendly competition.
Students were praised for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. "Their enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and determination were truly inspiring," said an observer of the event.
The PVSchools District Field Day is seen as more than just a competition. "It's a celebration of our students, our schools, and our community," remarked another attendee. Plans are already underway for next year's event.
In the boys' events, Ryan Straub won the E Boys 75-yard dash with a time of 10.17 seconds representing QRES. Slate Vowers took first place in the D Boys category with a time of 9.73 seconds for MMES. Bradley Wright won both C Boys categories in the 75-yard dash (9.32 seconds) and 600 yards (1:49) for BCES.
For girls, Charlotte Fly from LBES secured first place in the E Girls 75-yard dash with a time of 10.78 seconds. Grace Smith won in D Girls with a time of 9.93 seconds representing SSES.
In high jump events, Abraham Gainza-Nieves from WFES achieved first place in E Boys with a height of 3'8". Emerson Jenkins from NRES led E Girls high jump at 4'0".
Softball throw winners included Karsten O'Donnell for E Boys (155 feet) from LBES and Addison McDonough for E Girls (89'10") from FSES.
Roman Davis claimed victory in E Boys long jump at DSES with a distance of 12'11", while Scout Swensen led E Girls long jump at PPPS with an impressive leap of 11'7".
Relay races saw NRES win E Girls relay at a time of 1:04 minutes and FSES leading E Boys relay finishing at 59.69 seconds.
