Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) has announced a new partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) to offer a Cybersecurity 2+2 pathway. This program allows students to transfer seamlessly from an Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity at PVCC to a Bachelor of Applied Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on cybersecurity at ASU.

The pathway enables students to transfer up to 75 credits and complete an additional 18 credit hours focused on cybersecurity, along with 12 elective credits at ASU’s New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. Dr. Sean Petty, Interim Dean of Career & Technical Education at PVCC, remarked on the significance of this partnership: “This partnership creates an incredible opportunity for our students to continue their education without losing credits or momentum at one of the most innovative universities in Arizona.”

David Anaya, assistant director of Undergraduate Services at ASU's New College, emphasized the clarity this program provides for students aiming for a bachelor's degree: “Through this partnership, we want to help students see a clear pathway from their starting point at PVCC all the way to the finish line of a bachelor’s degree here at Arizona State University and the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences.”

The demand for cybersecurity professionals is rising rapidly, with job growth projected by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics at 32 percent through 2032. The median annual salary in this field exceeds $112,000. Graduates will be equipped for roles in both private and government sectors, including agencies such as the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, NSA, and Department of Defense.

This program also prepares students for further graduate studies in cybersecurity. For more details about the Cybersecurity 2+2 program offered by PVCC and ASU, interested individuals can visit PVCC's website or schedule meetings with their team.
