Senator Ruben Gallego, representing Arizona’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2015, recently shared his perspective on a Republican spending bill through a series of tweets. Known for his service in both the Arizona House of Representatives and the U.S. Congress, Gallego has voiced strong opinions on fiscal matters affecting veterans and public safety.

On March 14, 2025, Senator Gallego criticized the Republican spending bill by stating: "The Republican spending bill is a slap in the face to our veterans. Cuts to VA services, all so Elon and his billionaire friends can get another tax break? I’m voting NO."

Later that day, he reinforced his stance with a succinct tweet explaining his opposition: "Why I’m voting NO on the Republican spending bill".

Further addressing concerns specific to Arizona's environmental safety, Gallego tweeted about proposed budget cuts affecting wildfire management: "Today Republicans will try to cut over $550 million from wildland fire management programs in the Department of Interior—right before wildfire season. This is reckless and puts our Arizona communities at risk. I’m voting NO."
