Senator Ruben Gallego, representing Arizona's 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2015, recently shared his views on several key issues via social media. Gallego, who was born in Chicago and graduated from Harvard University in 2004, has been a vocal advocate for his constituents and their interests.
On March 5, 2025, Senator Gallego criticized a proposal by Elon Musk and DOGE to close the Bureau of Indian Affairs’ Western Regional Office in Phoenix. He stated that "The Elon Musk-DOGE plan to shutter the Bureau of Indian Affairs’ Western Regional Office in Phoenix is an unacceptable attack on Tribal Nations in Arizona." He emphasized the importance of this office for providing essential resources such as social services and economic development to tribal nations.
Later that day, Gallego tweeted about efforts to support American families and workers in achieving their aspirations. In Spanish, he expressed that "Estamos trabajando para que las familias y los trabajadores de este país puedan alcanzar el sueño americano--para poder comprar una casa y empezar un negocio."
In another post on March 5, he addressed the impact of the CHIPS Act on job creation while criticizing former President Donald Trump's stance on it. He asserted that "The CHIPS Act has created thousands of good paying jobs. Donald Trump wants to get rid of it because he's mad it wasn't his idea."
