The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is currently accepting applications for the position of McDowell Mountain Justice Precinct Constable following the resignation of David Lester, effective January 31, 2025. The precinct encompasses areas in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and Northeast Phoenix within Supervisorial Districts 2 and 3.
Constables are responsible for executing, serving, and returning processes, warrants, and notices. They also attend justice courts when necessary. The new constable will be appointed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. According to legal requirements, candidates must be Republicans like their predecessor Lester, reside in the McDowell Mountain Justice Precinct, and be registered voters in Arizona. The appointed individual will serve until the end of the current term.
Interested applicants should submit their letters of interest along with a resume to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. Submissions can be made via email at clerkboard@maricopa.gov or by direct mail to Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at 301 W. Jefferson St., Phoenix, AZ 85003 (10th floor). Applications are being accepted until Thursday, March 20 at 5 p.m. It is important to note that all submitted documents will become public records and applicants will undergo a background check.
