As wide receiver Michael Wilson concludes his rookie season, he reflects on achieving a primary goal: completing the season without injuries. This was a significant concern for Wilson, who missed several games in college and four games during his rookie year.

Wilson is on track to participate in all 17 games this season, pending any unforeseen incidents during practice. He expressed satisfaction with this accomplishment but has shifted his focus to improving his performance metrics.

"That was on the forefront of my mind this whole year: 'I gotta stay healthy, I gotta find a routine that works for me,'" Wilson said. "I switched some things up that I did the last couple of years. I'm really proud of that."

However, Wilson acknowledges room for improvement in his statistics. As a rookie, he recorded 38 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns over 13 games. This season, with one game remaining, he has made 47 catches for 548 yards and four touchdowns.

"Truthfully I'm disappointed in the numbers I had this year," Wilson said. "Because where we sit now ... having been in the system for a year, an entire offseason, was healthy, there is really no excuse. I don't feel great -- speaking for myself -- when I look at the numbers."

He recognizes that while stats are crucial for assessing performance, they may not fully represent a player's contribution or skill level. Nevertheless, Wilson plans to use this as motivation going forward.

The Arizona Cardinals will also evaluate their passing game strategy and consider how to utilize wide receivers more effectively. Availability remains key, and Wilson's ability to remain injury-free is an encouraging sign.

"I'm proud that I, at least for now, can kind of dent that injury-prone thing," Wilson said. "I didn't miss a practice, a workout. I was healthy the entire year."
