The Greater Phoenix Chamber has announced its legislative priorities for 2024, focusing on policies that promote Arizona as a leader in national and global economies. Todd Sanders, president and CEO of the Chamber, stated, "The Chamber’s utmost goal is to advocate and prioritize policies this session to put Arizona in the spotlight as a leader in national and global economies."

Representing 2,400 member businesses at various government levels, the Chamber's public affairs team supports pro-business and pro-growth policies. Mike Huckins, senior vice president of public affairs and IT operations for the Chamber, emphasized that their agenda reflects members' priorities: "The Greater Phoenix Chamber’s 2024 legislative agenda reflects the priorities of our members—first and foremost, we want to ensure that businesses have the tools they need to navigate through the current economic challenges."

A key focus for the Chamber is opposing mandates deemed harmful to businesses. They argue that businesses should have autonomy in decision-making without undue burdens from healthcare or workplace policy mandates. The Chamber encourages lawmakers to avoid placing unnecessary burdens on businesses adapting to post-pandemic conditions.

Arizona's growth over recent decades has been attributed to targeted economic development strategies. The Chamber plans to support state policies ensuring Arizona remains innovative and growth-oriented. They commend state lawmakers for promoting pro-business taxes and reducing costs for employers and employees.

Additionally, the Chamber will back the continuation of the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) during its statutory audit process before the legislature. The ACA has played a crucial role in attracting new businesses and major events like the Super Bowl.

The Chamber also urges lawmakers to maintain a structurally balanced budget while supporting initiatives aiding businesses amid economic challenges. They praise last year's fiscally responsible budget but acknowledge an expected shortfall affecting one-time spending investments.
