Moms for Liberty has endorsed Kim Fisher in her race for re-election to her seat on the Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD) Governing Board. Early voting is currently underway for the November 5 general election.
Fisher is currently serving her second term on the Governing Board, and she decided to run for a third term in order to help facilitate DVUSD's continued post-COVID recovery and work to unify the community.
Per her campaign website, Fisher places a strong emphasis on parental rights and parental involvement in children's education. She is also an advocate for ensuring that families have multiple options when it comes to forms of education so that they have the resources to be able to educate their children in the way that works best for them.
Fisher holds a Bachelor's degree in technical management and a master's degree in accounting and finance management, as well as a standard specialized teaching certificate for K-12 CTE business and marketing. Currently, she works as a comptroller. She has three children.
Per the DVUSD Governing Board's website, the Board comprises five members who are elected to alternating four-year terms.
Moms for Liberty is a parental-rights-in-education advocacy group founded by Tiffany Justice and Tina Descovich, two former school board members. According to their website, "Moms for Liberty is dedicated to fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government."
